If that's the case, you may as well retain the 2.5" pipes.Ģ) 2.5" pipes to 2.5" mufflers vs 2.5" pipes to cutout have proven to not loose power. Your greatest restriction is going to always be the 2.5" pipes in the muffler, and it's not just a restrictor plate, but an entire muffler system. but, I wouldn't think there'd be any advantage at all going from 3" back down to 2.5" mufflers in terms of flow. The flow is great.only cat limited so without cats it would be good for around 1500-2000hp.ġ) I don't remember a thing from my fluid dynamics class 20+ yrs ago. Too loud for me, too! But I will be honest - I think it's perfect for most guys. already has called 'dibs' on my 3 inch MagnaFlow mufflers LOL! It's not really what I was going for but it's a totally badass setup.īut for super quiet idle and cruise I am going back to stock mufflers soon. It doesn't have that sound quality that makes people look around for that annoyingly loud car and it doesn't attract cops. It has the rumble you are looking for but is also quiet. I will tell you flat out that setup is absolutely incredible from that angle. The ONLY valid reason, IMHO, for a full 3 inch setup like mine would be sound. I think most would find the low rumble at cruise very nice actually. But if you don't mind a slight increase in cruise sound volume it's amazing.
Bit neck down to the factory mufflers if you want true quiet.
In other words.get rid of the crimped sections and do a 3 inch from the collectors back. So you might benefit from a 3 inch setup to the rear axle, but I doubt there is any benefit of running a true 3 inch muffler. He did back to back pulls and the mufflers lost NO power. OP.rsutton1223 is running 1200+hp thru the stock mufflers with cutouts ahead of them. The flow is great.only cat limited so without cats it would be good for around 1500-2000hp.
